Fashion e-Commerce: Virtual Try-on with Anthropics Technology Lateral Entrants on the Rise
by Yvonne Heinen-Foudeh, Senior International Correspondent
Back in April, we discovered Zyler Virtual Try-on at Anthropics Technology’s booth while visiting the premier event for the Retail Technology Show in London. – The perfect place, by the way, to discover the latest technological innovation as well for the fashion segment we figured out. CEO Alexander Berend and his team are obviously on the way to redirecting the spotlight from some established solution providers for virtual try-on win the award “Virtual Fitting Room Innovation of the Year” then in May.
Today pre-dominantly British brands such as John Lewis Fashion Rental, Moss, and Larusmiani apply Zyler to reduce returns and increase conversions.
Multinational retail chain Marks & Spencer started a pilot for partnering with Zyler software to deliver an in-store virtual try-on experience for their Jaeger fashion brand early ahead. Therefore M&S has brought the technology to their ‘Pantheon store’ in London aside from Oxford Circus and to Harrogate in Yorkshire in time for Christmas sales in 2022.
Return rates of 50 percent and more, reported behind closed doors only, are evidence of customer disappointment when garments ordered online arrive and are tried on at home. Virtual fitting solutions aim to minimize the consequences of that costly and non-eco-logic fact.
Anthropics Technology’s virtual try-on packages under the sub-brand Zyler enable shoppers to try on clothing on the screen of desktops, smartphones, any mobile device, or in-store to identify the best fit and style. It’s no wonder e-commerce fashion retail offering powerful virtual try-ons reports a distinct increase in browsing times, besides the key objective to reduce returns. The development of AI-powered virtual try-on explicitly for menswear represented the next logical development step, completed in February of this year. Virtual try-on features come with some great benefits for branding. They lead to more social media shares and provide materials that can be used for creating online content, like e-catalogs and product style guides. Sales assistants can also use these materials to help customers.
The Retail Tech Breakthrough Awards recognize top companies, technologies, and products in the retail industry. This year, thousands of nominations were received from all over the world. Anthropics Technology joins a distinguished list of winners, including UPS, Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions, Advatix, Berkshire Grey, Happy Returns, GK Software, Manhattan Associates, Panasonic Connect, and other leading companies and startups in the retail technology industry. The associated participants and winners' lists therefore are an excellent source of tech innovations.
Quote from the Anthropics Technology laudation: “Zyler virtual try-on represents true commitment to pushing the boundaries of a technology to create innovative solutions that improve fashion retail experience and customer journey.”
