The machíne was fully electrically controlled to start, top, and reverse at any time, with automatic stops at each end of the spread. Controls were operated by the feet and legs, leaving both hands free to edge and smooth cloth while the machine was in motion. It was equipped with variable speed control, which was actuated by pressure against a lever, that enabled the spreader operator to have any speed desired between the lowest and highest speeds.
