Sonobond Becomes Part of Inductotherm
Sonobond Ultrasonics, based in West Chester, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has been integrated into the Inductotherm Group, having existed as its subsidiary for the past 30 years. “Sonobond and its customers will now have greater access to advanced power supply technologies, global service resources, and expanded supply chain resources,” said president Janet Devine.
Sonobond’s ultrasonic sewing and fabric bonding machines will add a new dimension to Inductotherm’s capabilities. Applications for the technical textiles industry present new opportunities for growth, especially wherever sewn seams are not adequate to satisfy end-user requirements for nonwovens and technical textiles.
Sonobond’s access to Inductotherm Group’s expanded manufacturing and supply chain resources will increase its ability to provide cost-effective assembly solutions.

The company’s SeamMaster ultrasonic sewing machine and fabric bonding machinery utilize high-frequency ultrasonic vibrations that cause synthetic fibers to soften and fuse, creating strong, regulatory-compliant, fully-sealed seams, without stitch holes, glue gaps, fraying, or unraveling. These seams are required for body armor, PPE garments, face masks, surgical and hospital gowns, and hazmat gear. Many filtration products also benefit from ultrasonically-produced leak-proof seams.
